Bucks’ Wesley Matthews makes historic donation to MACC Fund
MADISON, Wis. — Madison native and Bucks guard Wesley Matthews made a big gift to the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Fund.
The Madison Memorial and Marquette University alum made the largest donation from a professional athlete that the MACC Fund has ever received.
Matthews said his donation hits home because the organization is about children and family, things that are important to him as the father of a 3-year-old girl.
“I couldn’t imagine the heartache and the pain some of these families have to go through and will have to go through,” Matthews said. “So the opportunity to try to soften the blow by helping with resources, helping with aid, helping with comfort on top of the fact of helping with research.”
The specific dollar amount that Matthews donated is not being shared, but he hopes to inspire others to join him in this effort to fight childhood cancer.
