MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Bucks are making a habit of winning, but this time it wasn’t on the court. The Bucks gaming squad brought home their first-ever NBA 2K League championship  Saturday.

In the 2K League, teams compete against each other in the popular basketball video game series NBA 2K.

Bucks Gaming beat the Washington Wizards’ team, Wizards District Gaming, in a best-of-five series at the 2K League Finals in Indianapolis. The team also earned a $500,000 prize.

“We’re so excited to bring this championship home to Milwaukee and our fans,” team leader and Finals MVP Artreyo “Dimez” Boyd said. “Each player on our team played a critical role in this victory.”

The Bucks beat the Warriors, Mavericks and Timberwolves squads before taking down the Wizards on their way to the 2K League crown. The champs will celebrate in the Deer District later this week. Details have not yet been announced.
