Shopper passes 4 counterfeit $100 bills Wednesday
MADISON, Wis. — A man shopping at West Towne Mall Wednesday used counterfeit money to buy some clothing, Madison police said.
The man passed four counterfeit $100 bills around 2 p.m. at the Buckle, according to a release.
Staff did not realize the money was fake until after the customer left with clothing from the store, police said.
The man is described as black, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 240 pounds. He was in his mid-40s with short, salt-and-pepper hair, and he had a lazy right eye and teeth missing. He was wearing a grey suit and a paisley tie.
