Buckeyes and Badgers arrive in Indy
Teams play Saturday in Big Ten Championship game
INDIANAPOLIS — Ohio State and Wisconsin arrived in Indianapolis Friday afternoon as they prepare for Saturday’s Big Ten Championship game.
Head coaches Urban Meyer and Gary Andersen exchanged an embrace and some laughs as they posed with the Alonzo Stagg trophy and addressed the media. Andersen worked as an assistant under Meyer when Meyer was the head coach at Utah.
They have remained friends ever since. Both agree that their friendship will not play a factor in Saturday’s game.
“It’s not just another game. It’s the championship. It’s not a different feeling because Urban and I are coaching against each other. He would say the same thing if he were sitting here,” Andersen said.
“Our families get along and that will never change. For 60 minutes tomorrow, we’re going to be competitors,” Meyer added.
Saturday’s kickoff from Lucas Oil Stadium is set for 7:17 p.m.
