Buck and Honey's Monona

Best New Restaurant | Gold Winner

Sweet Spot on the Yahara Shoreline

Buck & Honey’s in Monona is the sister restaurant to the “award-winning” Sun Prairie location. The eateries’ namesakes, Buck & Honey Birkinbine, used to farm and own the land where the original restaurant resides. B&H Monona is perched on the Yahara River and is the anchor tenant of The Current, a new mixed-use development. B&H features an upscale casual environment with contemporary American scratch cuisine. Enjoy cocktails, craft beer or a glass of wine from an extensive list while gazing at an inspiring infinity birch forest back bar. A two-sided fireplace warms the space for a romantic night out or a fun dinner with family and friends. For outdoor dining, enjoy two patios offering plenty of seating. A breathtaking 30-foot outdoor fire feature stretches the length of the deck as you watch boats drift by. A boater’s paradise awaits with 23 boat slips and a kayak harbor allowing water enthusiasts to come and go. During the winter months enjoy ice skating in the adjacent Grand Crossings Park. B&H Monona is also convenently located on the Madison bike loop.

Open for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, the menu fits all palates and budgets. For starters, consider trying the Sassy curds, firecracker shrimp, or bacon-wrapped dates. Entree’s range from certified angus steaks to pan-fried walleye and Chef Sammy’s well known Spanky’s Meatloaf. Don’t miss out on the Brussels sprouts or smashed cauliflower for sides. There is also a popular Life Balance menu for the lighter side of things. Chef Sammy has been with owner Tom Anderson and his sister/GM Aimee Anderson since inception. The three of them operate both restaurants with an amazing staff they consider family.

Both locations are known for more than a great restaurant experience. They have five distinct event spaces for groups ranging from 12 to 150 people. Looking for the perfect location for a celebration? Look http://www.buckandhoneys.com/no further than B&H. “Building two kitchens in each location allows us to execute events and catering without disrupting our diner’s experience,” says Tom. For private events, rehearsal dining, weddings or any catering needs, be sure to contact B&H for a proposal. They love to help throw a party. Emails can be directed to info@buckandhoneys.com.
