Bronson Koenig appears in new distracted driving campaign
Koenig teams up with Ho-Chunk Nation, AAA
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — AAA and the Ho-Chunk Nation are teaming up with a familiar face from La Crosse to teach teenagers about the dangers of distracted driving.
The Ho-Chunk Nation says they’ve seen a steady increase in the number of young drivers in their communities not paying attention behind the wheel.
To help address the problem, they helped launch the “Guard Your Tomorrow” campaign Wednesday, featuring Ho-Chunk Nation member and Wisconsin Badger Bronson Koenig.
Officials with AAA say they hope the awareness campaign helps kids think twice about grabbing their phone while driving.
“We’re hoping to help them build safer habits that they’ll keep with them throughout their lives, because it’s really not safe to be using your phone like this at any age behind the wheel,” said Director of Public Affairs Nick Jarmusz.
Koenig will appear on banners and billboards in the La Crosse area for the campaign, but couldn’t make Wednesday’s kickoff event due to the Badgers preparing for Thursday’s game in the NCAA tournament.
