A liquor store in Brodhead was robbed by a masked gunman Thursday night.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to County Line Beverage at 4141 South County Road T at 8:57 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

The store’s clerk told deputies the man displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the cash register and a cordless phone on the counter. The clerk gave the man an unknown amount of cash from the register and the phone.

The man left the store to the southwest.

Police K-9s were brought to the scene to track the robber but were unable to find him.

The man is described as white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a larger build. He was wearing a dark blue or black zip-up sweatshirt with the hood pulled tightly around his face and a dark mask covering his face. He was wearing gray gloves with black palms, dark pants and dark shoes with white trim.
