Brian W. Kindschi
Brian W. Kindschi, age 51, passed away on March 28, 2017, at Sauk Prairie Healthcare, Prairie du Sac, WI.
He was born on December 26, 1965 the son of Verne and LaVerne (Schaefer) Kindschi. Brian graduated from Sauk Prairie High School in 1984. He attended UW River Falls, where he was a member of the Livestock Judging Team and the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He graduated from UW River Falls with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1989. Brian returned to his childhood farm to work with his dad, and cousins Jerry and Wayne Kindschi. He managed the cattle and grain contracts for Kindschi’s Inc. Brian was a member of the Sauk County Farm Bureau and served on the board of directors for several years. He won the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Discussion Meet in 1988 and was a runner up for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Outstanding Young Farmer in 2004. That same year he was awarded the Outstanding Young Farmer Community Leadership Award.
Outside of his life on the farm, Brian participated in many community activities. He was the Sumpter Town Chairperson from 2004 to 2010 after which he became Chairman of the Land Use Committee. He was involved in Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni, the Badger Steam & Gas Engine Club, and just recently helped raise funds for Operation Eagle’s Wings a fundraising campaign to fund an entire Badger Honor Flight. Brian was an avid reader and history buff. He loved discussing politics, hunting, fishing, and his precious homestead, the Waterbury Farm.
Brian is survived by his parents, Verne and LaVerne Kindschi, Prairie du Sac; sister Susan (Alan) Williams of DeForest; nephew Avery Williams and niece Abby Williams; Uncle Ron (Donna) Kindschi of Prairie du Sac as well as numerous cousins and friends. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry and Arlene Kindschi, and Wilbert and Myrtle Schaefer, and Aunt Marlene (Ted) Meyer.
A Memorial Service will be held at GraceWay Church, 65 13th St., Prairie du Sac, WI, on Saturday April 8th at 11am. Family and friends may visit at GraceWay on Friday April 7, 2017 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Brian’s name be made to Sauk Prairie FFA Alumni or Badger Honor Flight.
