Brian J. “Wheatie” Wiest
COTTAGE GROVE-Brian J. “Wheatie” Wiest, age 40, of Cottage Grove, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at UW Hospital. He was born on Oct. 27, 1971, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, the son of Jerry and Ann (Schindler) Wiest. He married Janine Sisel on Aug. 24, 2004. Wheatie loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was also a devoted Packers and Brewers fan. Wheatie was a man without a single bad bone in his body. He was an honest man; appreciated and respected by his friends in his workplace and his personal life. Wheatie always led by example and was the most loyal husband, son, brother, and friend anyone could ask for. Words cannot describe the impact he left on those he knew.
Wheatie is survived by his wife, Janine; his parents, Jerry and Ann; brothers, Jeff (fiancé, Conswello Crawford) and Shane (Alasa) Wiest; nephews, Hunter and Saxton; grandmother, Geraldine Schindler; mother-in-law, Patricia Sisel; many other relatives; and dear friends, especially Jesse and Chris. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard James Sisel; and grandparents, Joseph Schindler and Ray (Marcella) Wiest.
Funeral services will be held at IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY CHURCH, 5101 Schofield Street, Monona, at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Memorials may be made to Dane County Humane Society, Agrace HospiceCare, or American Diabetes Association.
