Brewers unveil new ‘City Connect’ uniforms, adding local flavor

MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Brewers are celebrating their unique connection and history in the city with a new set of uniforms.

The team unveiled its “City Connect” uniforms Friday morning, joining several other teams around the league in rolling out the special edition caps and jerseys that add an extra local flavor to their uniform set.

The Brewers’ City Connect uniform includes a return of the team’s powder blue look from the team’s early years, complete with gold and white piping on the sleeves. The team’s fan-given “Brew Crew” nickname appears across the front of the jersey, and also includes a new “grill” logo in a nod to the fans’ tailgating tradition.

The City Connect hat includes the “MKE” abbreviation for Milwaukee, with the city’s 414 area code being integrated into the lettering.

“Each element of the design was thoughtfully created to celebrate the unmistakable bond between our city, the fans and the team, Milwaukee’s Brew Crew,” Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger said in a statement.

The Brewers Team Store at American Family Field is the only place carrying the new City Connect gear until June 24.

The team will debut the new jerseys and caps on-field that night against the Toronto Blue Jays, and will continue to wear them for the entire series that weekend. They will also wear the uniforms for every Friday home game and on Community Nights for the remainder of the 2022 season.
