Aoki's 8th inning bunt hit wins for Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE — Norichika Aoki’s bunt single brought home Rickie Weeks with the game winning run in the eighth inning as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Miami Marlins 6-5 at Miller Park Monday night.
Miami had taken a 5-2 lead in the third inning as Justin Ruggiano had 4 RBI including a two-run homer off Brewers starting pitcher Zack Greinke.
Grienke pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits, 2 walks and 5 earned runs. With the no-decision, Greinke’s record at Miller Park remains 15-0..
The Brewers rallied off Miami starter Carlos Zambrano. Carlos Gomez hit a homer, Travis Ishikawa had a two-run single, and Aoki’s squeeze bunt off reliever Randy Choate in the eighth provided the winning run.
Francisco Rodriguez (1-4) got the win in relief and John Axford pitched a scoreless 9th to pick up his 14th save.
