MILWAUKEE, Wis. — One of the Brewers’ top bats is returning to the lineup.

Milwaukee reinstated Hunter Renfroe from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, the team announced. Renfroe had been dealing with a calf injury.

The Mississippi native has been one of the more consistent hitters for the Brew Crew. In his first season with the team, he has 13 home runs and is hitting .247. That’s better than his career batting average of .238.

As part of roster moves, the Brewers designated pitcher Chi Chi Gonzalez for assignment, ending a stint with the team that lasted only four games.

Gonzalez, who has never had a winning season in his six-year MLB career, continued to trend negative, allowing eight runs and 12 hits over 11.1 innings pitched.

The Brewers are back in action Tuesday in Minnesota to take on the Twins.
