Brewers put Josh Hader on injured list due to COVID-19

Brewers’ Hader will undergo sensitivity training

MILWAUKEE — A COVID-19 outbreak in the Milwaukee Brewers bullpen is continuing as the team put All-Star closer Josh Hader on the injured list Monday, making him the fourth Brewers relief pitcher in the last few days to land on the IL due to the virus.

Fellow relief pitchers Hunter Strickland and Jake Cousins tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday afternoon, and Jandel Gustave was also sidelined due to being a close contact.

Hader pitched for the Brewers Sunday afternoon, securing a 2-1 win over the Atlanta Braves.

Star outfielder Christian Yelich also remains on the injured list after testing positive for COVID last week, while Jace Peterson is returning from the IL tonight after being a close contact. Yelich only had mild symptoms after previously being vaccinated. Strickland and Cousins also were both reportedly vaccinated.
