Halton's first inning grand slam sets the tone
MILWAUKEE — Sean Halton hit a grand slam in a five-run first inning as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Chicago Cubs 7-0 at Miller Park Wednesday night.
Aramis Ramirez drove in Jean Segura with a single in the first to set up Halton’s grand slam to right, his fourth homer of the season.
Khris Davis added his 10th homer of the season in the fourth inning and Carlos Gomez drove in the Brewers other run with a double in the seventh.
Tyler Thornburg (3-1) pitched six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and two walks, striking out four.
Chris Rusin (2-5) took the loss for the Cubs.
