Gallardo's pitching, Braun's hitting lead Milwaukee
HOUSTON — Yovani Gallardo allowed one run and four hits over six innings of work and Ryan Braun hit his 24th homer of the season as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Houston Astros 7-1 Friday night in Houston.
Gallardo (7-6) gave up a first inning home run to the Astros’ Scott Moore, but shut down the Houston offense after that.
The Brewers hit three homers. In addition to Braun’s 24th of the season, Norichika Aoki hit his 5th and Rickie Weeks hit his 7th in support of Gallardo.
Milwaukee ended its two-game losing streak to move its season record to 39-44.
