Braun, Fiers lead Brewers over Arizona
Milwaukee evens series with Diamondbacks in 10-2 win
MILWAUKEE — Ryan Braun took over the National League lead with two homers and starting pitcher Mike Fiers threw 6 shutout innings as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-2 Saturday night at Miller Park.
Braun hit homers in the 3rd and 4th innings off Arizona starter Wade Miley. Braun has 22 homers this season, which now leads the National League.
Fiers allowed just 2 hits over 6 innings of work and struck out 10 Diamondback batters to improve his record to 3-2 on the season.
Fiers has not given up a run in his past 19 innings of work.
Cody Ransom and Carlos Gomez also added homers in the Brewers 13-hit attack.
The 10 runs were the most the Brewers had scored since May 20, when they beat Minnesota 16-4.
The Brewers are now 35-42 on the season — 19-19 at Miller Park.
