Bow and arrows, cash, wallet stolen in 8 vehicle break-ins
PLEASANT SPRINGS, Wis. — There were eight vehicle break-ins in Pleasant Springs and Cottage Grove Sunday, according to officials.
The victims reported thefts from their vehicles. The stolen property included a compound bow and arrows, cash, change, a wallet and other miscellaneous items, according to a release from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.
In some of the cases the vehicles had been left unlocked, but in at least one report, a passenger-side window had been broken to gain access to the vehicle, officials said.
A homeowner in the same neighborhood as some of the break-ins on Riden Road in Pleasant Springs also reported that someone had damaged his motion-detector light at about 3:30 a.m., according to the release.
Police ask that anyone with information about the crimes call the Dane County tip line at 608-284-6900 or the Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014, officials said.
The Madison Police Department released Monday that 25 guns have been stolen from vehicles this year, and reminds people to lock their cars.
