Boil order lifted in Prairie du Sac
Weekend tests come back negative
PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. — A boil order is lifted in Prairie du Sac after E. coli was detected last week.
City officials said tests from over the weekend have come back negative.
A water sample collected Oct. 6 indicated the presence of E. coli bacteria. Prairie Du Sac Waterworks did further investigation on the water sample Wednesday, and confirmed the contamination.
E. coli can cause illness, and are particularly a concern for people with weakened immune systems. The microbes in these wastes can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, or headaches.
