Blain’s Farm and Fleet in Janesville to host VP Pence, Paul Ryan
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Janesville retailer said it will host Vice President Mike Pence Friday for a listening session and to speak to its employees, according to a news release.
Blain’s Farm and Fleet officials said Thursday that the store will host a listening session at its distribution center with Pence, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan — a Janesville native — and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price and local farmers and business owners.
Officials said Pence is also expected to deliver a speech at 11:45 a.m. to about 350 Blain Supply associates and guests invited from the community. The event isn’t open to the public.
The vice president’s office said he will discuss the Trump’s economic agenda, including the repeal and replacement of Obamacare, and participate in a tour of the distribution facility.
Blain’s Farm and Fleet opened in 1955 and operates stores in 38 communities in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa, according to the company. Blain’s employs more 4,400 associates, 600 at its two Janesville locations.
