Black business expo is consumer tradeshow, job fair rolled into one
Equity includes economic empowerment. As we as a society continue to evolve our understanding of disparities, the importance of entrepreneurship and business success in communities of color continues to rise in importance. And that’s both starting those businesses and supporting those businesses.
And both are part of the core mission of Sabrina Madison’s work as she brings back, for a second year, the Heymiss Progress Expo to Madison.
The largest Black business expo in the state will host 60 vendors and more than 40 employers from across Dane County. It’s a consumer tradeshow and job fair rolled into one.
Madison’s goal is to attract 2,000 attendees. We’d like to help her meet that goal.
The Boys and Girls Club has been collecting donations to help families in need who might not be able to shop at the expo otherwise. The expo is this coming Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Madison College’s Wright Street campus.
