Biotech companies moving, expanding
Two businesses moving into Accelerator building
MADISON, Wis. — Three businesses in the University Research Park are making changes that reinforce the companies’ commitment to Madison, according to the University Research Park director.
Epicentre and Aldevron will move operations into the research park’s 80,000-square-foot Accelerator building. Exact Sciences will move into space Aldevron is vacating.
“These moves and expansions highlight not only the continued growth of Madison’s biotech sector, but also the continued commitment of these successful companies to the area,” said Mark Bugher, University Research Park director.
Epicentre manufactures molecular biology reagents for life science research and will use a full floor of the Accelerator building. It was acquired by Illumina in 2011.
Aldevron will double its capacity in the Accelerator building as the company shifts from a research and development focus to manufacturing.
Exact Sciences is focused on a noninvasive colorectal cancer screening test called Cologuard and nearing the completion of a nationwide clinical trial of the test.
