Hometown: Melrose, Wisconsin

College: UW-Madison

Other Journalism Experience: I was an intern at News 3 in college, worked part time at WKBT after graduation until I got the call from KXMB in Bismarck, ND, to be their weekend sports anchor. After about a year there, I moved to Cedar Rapids, IA, where I was the sports director at KGAN/KFXA for 5 years.

Started at News 3 Now on: April 6, 2020.

What is your favorite part about living in Madison? It’s home. Going to college here, leaving for 10 years, and then coming back to work at my dream job – it’s like going back to your parent’s house for the holidays.

What is the biggest news story that you’ve covered? Iowa football’s 2015 season. They were undefeated in the regular season, went to their first Big Ten title championship game, and earned a spot in the Rose Bowl for the first time in 25 years.

What is your favorite kind of ice cream? Mint Chip or Cookie Dough or Orange Sherbet, basically all of them …

What is your favorite place to vacation? Franklin Lake. Gone there every summer growing up, proposed to my wife there, it’s just a special place with lots of memories.

What was your favorite band when you were in high school? The Backstreet Boys. My cousin Jordan and I would pretend to be them. Always wanted to be in a boy band, still do.

What is your most treasured possession? My grandpa’s watch. My grandma gave it to wear in honor of him and I have it on every time I anchor sports.
