Why did you decide to come to Madison? Can’t take the midwest boy out of the midwest! I’ve visited Madison a bunch, had a lot of family go to school here, it’s close to home, and always thought it had such a cool vibe! And I was tired of living in the northern woods.

What’s the biggest or most memorable news story you’ve covered? Biggest story was definitely the protests following George Floyd’s murder. A couple of big ones happened in Duluth where thousands filled the streets with such raw emotion and hurt, while later on there were some clashes and damage. Most memorable: John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon near Canada, every year!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? “Cut your hair”- My high school drama director. (I had a mullet…don’t know why)

What do you like to do in your spare time? Spare time? “Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time.” I enjoy running until the 3rd or 4th mile, and am a major nerd (if the Star Wars quote didn’t give that away), find me at comic book shops and movies 80% of the time. Otherwise still exploring all there is to do here in Madison!

If you could have one superpower, what would it be? Flight. Easily. Soar through the clouds, never pay for gas? Sign me up.

What was your favorite band or musical artist in high school? Listened to a LOT of Fall Out Boy.
