Bicyclist injured in hit-and-run crash
Bicyclist taken to a Janesville hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
BRODHEAD, Wis. — A 72-year-old bicyclist was injured when he was struck by a truck in a hit-and-run collision, according to a release from the Brodhead Police Department.
Police were called at 12:07 p.m. Sunday to the intersection of 17th Street and West 5th Avenue on a report of a crash involving a truck and a bicyclist.
Police said the bicyclist was eastbound on 17th Street when he was struck by a truck traveling the same direction. The bicyclist was taken to a Janesville hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said witnesses and vehicle parts left at the scene indicate the truck to be a 1990s single cab Chevrolet 1500 with an unknown Wisconsin plate. The truck is reported to have black rims, silver wheel wells and damage to the passenger side of the truck.
The driver is believed to be a white man, approximately 20 years old with facial hair and wearing a dark-colored T-shirt.
