Betty Lou Eaton
Betty Lou Eaton, age 82, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Watertown, WI.
She was born on November 29, 1931, in Tomah, WI and was the daughter of the late Edward and Iva (Stoikes) Merchant. She married Douglas Nelson on November 24, 1948 and to this union were born six children. They made a life together in Rice Lake, WI and Palmyra, WI. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1968. She married Harold Eaton of Mauston, WI on December 21, 1993 and he preceded her in death on July 6, 2012.
She is survived by her children, Lynda Turner, Rick Nelson, Cindy (Alan) Kumbier, Sheree (Ronald) Fischer, Laurie (Gregory) Adams; eight grandchildren, Rhonda, Arvid, DJ, Eric, Kristy, Summer, Trenton and Trevor and six great grandchildren; Preston, Jaxon, Ryker, Chayse, Carlos and Karen; one sister, Genevieve Waddell of Watertown; one brother-in-law, Otis Hutchens of New Lisbon.
Betty was a hard working woman who enjoyed taking care of her family. She enjoyed gambling with Harold and friends, and she could be found sitting in front of the TV watching her beloved Packers, Badgers and Brewers. She looked forward to her children and grandchildren visiting and preparing feasts for the big deer hunters.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas Nelson, second husband, Harold Eaton; three sisters, Garnet Bladl, Vivian Ewing and Phyllis Hutchens; her son, Randy Nelson, and son-in-law, Larry Turner.
Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center in Watertown, WI, Home Health United and Rainbow Hospice for the wonderful care she received during her illness along with Dr. Radant of Mile Bluff Medical Center in New Lisbon, WI.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon), Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Crandall Funeral Home, 123 Elm St. Mauston, WI where family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Wendell Williams will be officiating. Burial will be at the Mauston Cemetery.
