Betty L. Haugen
Betty L. Haugen, age 85, of Janesville, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday evening, Oct. 16, 2012. She was born on May 21, 1927, in Anderson, MO, the daughter of Thomas Oakley and Lillian Leota (Davis) Painter. She married Ingolf Haugen on July 10, 1954, in Orfordville, WI. She was a member of the Orfordville Lutheran Church, and a 25-year breast cancer survivor. Betty enjoyed traveling, cooking, caring for her grandchildren, and spending recent winters in Florida.
Betty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ingolf Haugen of Janesville; son, Steve (Penny) Haugen of Waunakee, WI, and their children, Brian of Red Bluff, CA, Lee (Diana) Haugen of Marina Del Rey, CA, and Paige (Brian) Buck of St. Anthony, MN; son, Larry of Gainesville, GA; daughter, Janet (Kent) Hartman of Fort Wayne, IN and their children Erica (Tyler) Schlatter of Ellicott City, MD and Derek Hartman of Fort Wayne, IN; as well as great grandchildren, Logan and Gavin Buck; 3 sisters: Evadena Painter of Anderson, MO, Emma Louise (Sue) (Jack) Taylor of Camdenton, MO, and Dorothy Jean (Jeannie) Dobson of Janesville; and 2 brothers, Harvey (Jeanette) Painter of Springdale, AR, and Jim Painter of Anderson, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at ORFORDVILLE LUTHERAN CHURCH, Orfordville with Pastor Eric Jones officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. An additional visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at ORFORDVILLE LUTHERAN CHURCH. Interment will be in Luther Valley Cemetery near Orfordville. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations to the Orfordville Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
