Betty Jean Boehmer
Betty Jean Boehmer, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Maplewood Nursing Home in Sauk City. She was born in Ladysmith, November 10, 1926 to the late Guy and Grace (Hatcher) Andrews. Betty was raised by her Uncle Beauford and Aunt Cleo Scott after her grandmother passed away. She graduated from Prairie du Sac High School in 1945 and married her high school sweetheart Robert W. “Bill” Boehmer on October 15, 1947, Bill preceded her in death on March 20, 1990. Betty married Ray H. Jensen on June 8, 1991, he preceded her in death on October 14, 1999. She worked for Consumers Cooperative for 38 years, retiring in 1991. Betty was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, enjoyed gardening, volunteering at Maplewood Nursing Home and the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. She was proud to have donated to the Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital Foundation and was present at their recent groundbreaking.
She is survived by family and close friends, Alan (Sarah) Boehmer, Paulette (Allan) Beerkircher, Ralph Martin, Rita (Jeff Hardell) Martin, Randy (Carmen) Martin, Ron Martin, Richard (Cindy) Martin, Russell (Sherri) Pieper, Carol (Rod) Hehenberger, the Cliff Kohlman family, many other relatives, friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by a special sister Ruth Martin, two brothers, one sister, and numerous other relatives.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 11:00 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Sauk City. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City from 4:00pm until 7:00pm and from 10:00am until 10:45am the morning of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Betty’s family would like to thank, Home Health United Hospice, Maplewood Nursing Home, Betty’s caretakers Verda and Donna, and Meals on Wheels. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Betty’s name.
