Best of the ‘Burbs 2015: Breakfast

Hubbard Avenue Diner, Middleton
Hubbard Avenue Diner might be known for its made-from-scratch pies, but its breakfast has suburbanites turning into regulars at the classic ’50s-style diner. It’s a first-name-basis kind of place, says manager Jose Garcia. His establishment is a member of the Food Fight Restaurant Group and has been in Middleton for sixteen years. Stop in for breakfast or weekend brunch for a home-style plate of hash ‘n’ eggs, or spice things up with huevos rancheros, served with green salsa. And you won’t find it on the menu, but on special occasions the diner incorporates its delectable pie fillings into French toast.
Finalists: Three Sisters Inn, Middleton; Schubert’s Downtown Restaurant, Mount Horeb
