Bernice Ruth Brueggeman
Bernice Ruth Brueggeman, age 86, passed away peacefully at Agrace HospiceCare on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She was born in Marathon City, Wisconsin on August 6, 1928, the daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Bretzke) Fisher. She married Elmer Brueggeman on November 8, 1947. They had been married for 64 years, when Elmer passed away on December 24, 2011.
Bernice was a wonderful mother and a cook at Wisconsin Heights High School, from where she retired. She enjoyed baking, gardening, planting flowers and canning. She was very active in her church, St. Barnabas in Mazomanie, and other organizations.
She is survived by 4 children, Gene (Nancy) of Mazomanie, Phyllis (David) of Oklahoma City, OK, Susan (Joe) of Prairie du Sac and Todd (Tamra) of Pardeeville; a sister, Alice Fielhaber of Wausau; a brother-in-law, Albert Brueggeman of Sturtevant; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 115 Madison St., Sauk City, at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014. A lunch in the school gymnasium will follow the Mass. A visitation will be held at HOOVERSON FUNERAL HOME, 251 Water St., Sauk City from 10:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. The family would like to thank Agrace HospiceCare for everything they did for their Mother.
