Bernice M. “Bea” Patton
MADISON- Bernice M. “Bea” Patton, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born on May 10, 1923, in Beloit, the daughter of Agnes and John Klemstine. Bea graduated from Beloit Senior High School in 1941. On Dec. 11, 1954, she was united in marriage to William Patton. Bea devoted her life to raising her three children. Later in life she enjoyed bingo at the Eastside Club, her daily breakfasts at Dairyland Restaurant and spending time at the Goodman Community Center. Bea was a lifelong member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and volunteered there often. She also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 7591.
Bea is survived by her children, William (Michele), Michael and James (Joann); and grandchildren Tyler and Carly Patton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1987.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, with Father Kent Schmitt presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 and also at the church from noon until the time of service on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Dennis Catholic Church or the Goodman Community Center. Bea’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oak Park Place and St. Mary’s Hospital NICU.
