Ben, the son of Terry and Patti (Weigel) Cullen, was born on March 5, 1987 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Ben graduated from Platteville High School in 2005 where he played on the soccer team, ran track, and also played with the traveling soccer club. He attended Southwest Wisconsin Technical College before acquiring a position in his field of study at Kaplan Professional in La Crosse. While working for Kaplan, Ben was able to advance his knowledge of information technology, while also pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in this field. His strong work ethic and desire to learn awarded him various promotions within the company, his most recent position being a Quality Assurance Analyst.
Ben was a considerate, thoughtful, and selfless person. He put others needs before his own, because that was his giving nature. He was always available at a moment’s notice for his family, friends, and colleagues. Ben was a constant and reassuring presence in their lives, always ready to lend a helping hand. He used his computer expertise to help family, friends, and co-workers in his spare time. He had a real passion for anything technology related, from building and repairing computers to being an avid video game enthusiast. He was a “gamer.” One of his favorite pastimes was making frequent trips to the cabin where he and his friends could get away and enjoy the outdoors. Another of Ben’s hobbies was astronomy; he often shared his love of the stars and planets with his family and friends.
Ben touched so many lives of friends and family. His generosity will continue to touch the lives of many through his choice of being a donor.
Ben is survived by his loving family, parents Terry and Patti Cullen; sisters, Mandy Cullen and Carrie Cullen. He is also survived by grandparents, Ann Weigel, Jerry & Pat Cullen, and aunts and uncles: Al & Lynn Weigel, Tim & Tilly Weigel, Bruce & Pam (Weigel) Greenhalgh, Gary & Debbie (Cullen) Capps, Steve & Connie Cullen, Cliff & Marge (Cullen) Tennessen, Ken & Betty (Cullen) Johnson, Kenny & Joan Cullen, Bob & Connie (Cullen) Busch, Andy Cullen, Rene & Missy (Cullen) Kleinhanzl, Dave & Vicki (Cullen) Steinbach, Kurt & Jenny (Cullen) Opgenorth, Jerry & Stephanie Cullen, Tom & Melissa Cullen, and many many cousins. He was preceded in death by Grandpa Richard Weigel, uncle, Greg Weigel, and cousins Chris Capps, Tom Tennessen, Laura Tennessen and Abby Cullen.
He will be greatly missed. “Love you more Ben”
