Ben Strickland to take over De Pere football

MADISON, Wis. — After 4 years as an assistant at Edgewood, Ben Strickland is heading north to become a head coach for the first time in his career.

The former Badger defensive back will take over a De Pere program that is coming off a 9-2 season and a Fox River Classic North title.

Strickland played at Wisconsin from 2004-2007 and will be forever remembered as the guy who recovered the blocked punt in the endzone to beat the Gophers in 2005.
