Beltline delays expected this weekend during Midwest Horse Fair
MADISON, Wis. — Traffic delays are expected on the Beltline this weekend as spectators and exhibitors head to the Alliant Energy Center for the Midwest Horse Fair, according to a release.
The annual Midwest Horse Fair starts Friday morning and goes through Saturday, officials said.
Hundreds of spectators and exhibitors will be heading to the Alliant Energy Center during the morning commute, and authorities expect both east and westbound lanes of the Beltline to be congested, according to the release.
In addition to the main gate on Rimrock Road, gates will be open on Olin Avenue, Rusk Avenue and John Nolen Drive, officials said. One lane of outbound John Nolen Drive and Rimrock Road will be closed to facilitate traffic flow.
Law enforcement officers will be directing traffic at the main gate, the Rimrock Road and Rusk Avenue intersection and at the John Nolen Drive and Rimrock Road intersection, according to the release.
Officials ask drivers to avoid the Beltline near Park Street, Rimrock Road and John Nolen on Friday morning if they can.
