Beloit police look for man allegedly involved in shooting
Police: Suspect, victim shot in arm knew each other
BELOIT, Wis. — Beloit police are looking for a man who allegedly shot an acquaintance in the arm Monday morning.
Around 7:30 a.m., Beloit police responded to a report of shots fired in the 1800 block of Dewey Avenue, according to a release. Shortly after the first call, another person reported that a man had been shot and was at an address in the 1900 block of Dewey Avenue in the town of Beloit.
Emergency crews found a man who had been shot in the upper right arm, police said. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers found the scene of the shooting in the 1800 block of Dewey Avenue, and investigators processed the scene.
Investigators determined the suspect, Samuel Jones, 31, of Beloit, and the person who was shot knew each other.
Police said they are still looking for Jones, and ask anyone with information about the shooting or his whereabouts to call the Beloit Police Department at 608-364-6801.
