Beloit police ID victim, person arrested in connection with fatal shooting
BELOIT, Wis. — Beloit police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting last week and announced Monday that they have arrested someone in connection to the shooting.
Treron L. White, 21, of Beloit, was killed in a shooting March 11 around 9:30 p.m. in the area of Elm Street and Roosevelt Avenue, officials said. The two other people shot, 25-year-old Devonta D. Brandenburg and a 15-year-old boy, both of Beloit, were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from gunshot wounds.
Gregory A. Carter, 30, of Beloit, was arrested in Janesville Wednesday night in connection with the shooting, according to a Facebook post from Beloit police.
Due to a potential conflict of interest in the Rock County District Attorney’s Office, the Wisconsin Attorney General’s Office will review potential prosecution against Carter, officials said.
The shooting remains under investigation and officials ask anyone with information about the incident to call 608-364-6837.
