Beloit police honor law enforcement officers killed in line of duty

BELOIT, Wis. — Beloit police posted a law enforcement memorial service at Riverside Park Wednesday, honoring officers killed in the line of duty.

Tables at the event were decorated with red, white and yellow roses to symbolize fallen officers.

Marc Perry, the event’s keynote speaker, said he didn’t initially want to speak at the event because he never served as an officer but was inspired to share a message of unity.

“We must stop seeing each other as adversaries,” Perry said. “We all want our communities to prosper. We all want our children to prosper. But that will never happen if we continue to treat each other as anything less than human.”
