As bitter winter weather seems to finally settle in for the season, these seven dining and drink events will give you a reason to brave the cold this week.

Tuesday, Jan. 21
Madison’s food cart scene doesn’t go completely dormant this time of year. This week the Robin Room will allow guests to preview a highly anticipated newcomer to the field. Head to Ahan at the Robin Room for a first taste of the menu offered by Ahan, the food cart started by Jamie Hoang (of L’Etoile, Estrellón and the now-closed Sujeo) and Chuck Brown (of Robin Room and Estrellón). The cart will be up and running come spring, so take this chance to get a sneak peek at the cart’s cuisine before the thaw. 6-9 p.m. Click here for more information

Beer enthusiasts can reserve a seat at the table for Karben4 Brewing’s Brewmaster Beer Dinner at the K4 taproom this Tuesday. Karben4 Brewing’s chef and brewmaster will pair four courses — including a corn chowder, a honey roasted root vegetable salad, a wild mushroom tart and a cut of Fischer Family Farm beef — with four of the brewery’s signature beers. Pairings will be discussed and explained between courses, and the event will wrap up with a delectable dessert provided by CocoVaa Chocolatier. $65. 6-9 p.m. Click here for more information

Wednesday, Jan. 22

Old Sugar Distillery debuts its new bourbon at Bourbon and BBQ Release Party on Wednesday. The bourbon, made from American corn and aged first in new charred oak and then finished in used rum barrels, comes out of a collaboration between Old Sugar Distillery and Giant Jones Brewing Co. Tickets to this event include a 750-milliliter bottle of the release, one bourbon cocktail and a brisket or pulled pork sandwich meal served with a batch of bourbon barbecue sauce made specially by Old Sugar Distillery. $65. 5-8 p.m. Click here for information

Speaking of Giant Jones Brewing Co., Beer and Mead Pairing will also take place Wednesday evening featuring Jessica Jones of Giant Jones. The event will take place at Bos Meadery, and Jones, a grand master beer judge and advanced cicerone, will walk attendees through the pairings of between five and six Giant Jones Brewing Co. beers with Bos Meadery meads. Friday, Jan. 24
Substituting much of the hops in this beer for coffee, Karben4 Brewing will once again hold Deep Winter Release x2 at the K4 taproom. Made with roasts from Just Coffee Cooperative in Madison, the Deep Winter Coffee Stout is 6.8% alcohol-by-volume, perfect to warm you up, and a special bourbon barrel-aged batch of the 2019 release will be available at the event as well. Arrive early, since the first 10 people through the door will receive a complimentary bag of limited edition Wake the Dead Bourbon Barrel Coffee from Just Coffee. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Click here for more information

Head to the Atwood for some 1990s-themed fun at One Barrel Brewing Co.’s Fanny Pack Throw Back: ’90s Night. The event will feature ’90s-themed karaoke and a costume contest, as well as raffle prizes, like a brew day alongside One Barrel Brewing Co.’s brewmaster and a “Free Beer for a Year” coupon. Plus, the party benefits the River Food Pantry, so you can don your ’90s best and show off your memory for TLC lyrics for a good cause. 7 p.m.-2 a.m. Click here for more information

In anticipation of Super Bowl LIV, which will take place one week from Sunday, Robin Room will host Pro Bowl of Meats featuring meat from Wisconsin-based Enos Farms. Jeremy Lynch of Enos Farms has put together a menu including an elevated ham sandwich as well as the whiskey ginger meatballs pictured above. A hog from Enos Farms will make up the sausage and meat cuts given away in a meat raffle at the event, and 3 Sheeps Brewing will show up for a draft beer takeover. 5-8 p.m. Click here for more information
