Saturday at Warner Park, Andrew Beckwith pitched seven innings for Madison as the Mallards beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 6-1.

The Mallards didn’t get hot until the fourth inning When Anthony Gonsolin hit a solo home run to tie the game at 1-1. In the fifth, the Mallards tacked on two more when Ro Coleman scored with the help of a Woodchucks error, and Logan Regnier drove in another with an infield single to give Madison a 3-1 lead. In the sixth inning, Madison added three more runs, highlighted by Jean Ramirez’s solo homer. Beckwith struck out six batters, a season-high.

With the win, the Mallards improve to 18-11 in the second half of the season. The Mallards and Woodhchucks play Sunday in Wausau.
