Beauty Picks for the Time-Starved

Beauty Picks for the Time-Starved

Although I’m a , I do appreciate a product that can give big results with just one use or in a condensed amount of time. As a new mom I don’t have as much time to myself anymore to use time-consuming beauty treatments, so I wanted to share some products that I love and use that achieve maximum results in minimum time with little effort.

Tarte Cheek Stain When cooler weather rolls around I always reach for a bold cheek stain to impart a bit of glowiness in a snap to my face. Tarte’s gel version is great because it leaves a long-lasting, believable-looking flush. tarte.com

?Clinique Turnaround Overnight Radiance Moisturizer The reason Clinique’s famous Turnaround line is labeled as such is because it encourages cell turnover on your visage—thus resulting in healthier, brighter-looking skin. The Turnaround Overnight moisturizer for night delivers on its promise, and I’ve found my skin to be soft and brighter by morning–even after just one use. clinique.com

L’Oreal RevitaLift Miracle Blur I love a good primer, and L’Oreal’s RevitaLift Miracle Blur is a product that is a hybrid skin perfector/primer for under your makeup. All you need is a pea-size amount. Smooth it on your face post-moisturizer and under your face makeup for a smooth canvas. Before I bought this product I actually had a sample that I smoothed on one side of my face and left the other side bare. The results encouraged me to purchase a tube of Miracle Blur because it really did perfect my skin! ulta.com

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish If you’ve ever gotten a gel or shellac manicure you know it lasts for twice as long as a regular manicure does. It was only a matter of time before gel manicure products and UV light kits were introduced by Essie, Sally Hansen and other brands for at-home use. Sally Hansen just introduced a new type of at-home gel manicure product with no UV light needed. This intrigued me since the instructions state that all you need to do is paint two coats of color and one coat of topcoat and you’re done. And it’s removable with regular nail polish remover—another bonus! In addition this polish dries more quickly than standard lacquer and lasts longer—up to two weeks. I’ve tried a few different colors by this line and I can confirm that this polish does indeed last much longer than standard polish does. My manicure doesn’t last two whole weeks without a chip, but it lasts a solid eight to ten days before I see any chips. Which is OK by me. sallyhansen.com

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Mask With winter fast approaching I always notice that my skin gets drier—no surprise there. Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Mask is great for lazy people like myself who don’t necessarily have time to apply a mask then wait twenty minutes for it to do its magic. This mask only takes 5–10 minutes. You simply apply it to your face and wait the allotted time. Then you can tissue off the excess product and rub the rest into your face (so no rinsing even needed!) I just applied this miracle worker last night and no exaggeration—I felt like my skin looked soft and supple and my forehead lines were diminished because of the intense moisturization the mask provided my thirsty skin! burtsbees.com

Benefit BADGal Lash I’ve long been a DiorShow devotee. I had found there was no other mascara that can replicate this miracle worker’s results—and trust me, I’ve spent money trying lots of different brands (drugstore and prestige). I decided to give Benefit’s BADGal Lash‘s mascara a try because the brush is very similar to DiorShow’s—full and bushy to coat every last lash without clumps. It’s also a slight advantage that Benefit’s mascara is slightly cheaper than DiorShow ($19 versus DiorShow’s $25). BADGal gives the same look as DiorShow and I love that it layers almost a bit better than DiorShow, too. (As a side note, I tried BADGal’s waterproof version and I would not recommend it—this product comes in a skinny tube and the brush is completely different—it doesn’t give nearly the same results as the non-waterproof version. Just my two cents.) sephora.com

St. Tropez One Night Only Instant Glow Body Lotion I like a bronzed look but with most products I’ve tried they either take hours to develop or are lotions that are applied for several days in a row to achieve a sun-kissed look. Enter St. Tropez’s One Night Only lotion which does exactly what the name says it does. I realize that self-tanner isn’t a huge necessity in winter, but for an event that you’ll be showing off your arms, legs or décolletage, this is the perfect solution. sephora.com
