Beatrice M. McDonald
Dodgeville – Beatrice M. McDonald, age 91, of Dodgeville, passed away on June 25, 2014 at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.
Bea was born on February 7, 1923, the daughter of Herbert and Catherine Liegel. She attended and graduated from St. Luke’s High School in Plain, WI. Bea worked at the Badger Ordinance during World War II. She married Joseph McDonald on February 19, 1946 in Plain. After she was married, Bea worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph Hospital (now Upland Hills Health). She worked many years at Thym’s Supper Club. Bea loved gardening, playing cards and traveling south to Arizona for the winters. She also made many quilts and painted many nature paintings for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Beatrice is survived by her four children, Betty (Daryl) Roecker, of Olathe, Kansas, Pam (Bruce) Barge, of Onalaska, Bob (Sally) McDonald, of Madison and Bill (Julie) McDonald, of Middleton; six grandchildren, Todd (Christine) Roecker, Stacia (Adam) Benedict, Tracy (Kevin) Wicker, Maya McDonald, Taylor and Brielle McDonald; eight great grandchildren, Tyler and Ariel Tenniswood, Ethan and Quinn Benedict, Kaylie and Keegan Wicker, and Grayson and Madelyn Roecker.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph McDonald, her parents, three sisters, Elaine Hutter, Erna Ringelstetter and Delores McDonald, two brothers, Cyril and Gregory Liegel and her eldest grandchild, Angela Tenniswood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014 at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. Father Perry McDonald, Father Patrick Wendler and Deacon Dennis McDonald will concelebrate. Burial will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass on Monday at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH in Dodgeville. A luncheon will follow.
