‘Bare as you dare’: World Naked Bike Ride returns to Madison
MADISON, Wis. — After a one-year hiatus, the World Naked Bike Ride has returned to Madison.
Saturday’s ride featured bikers baring as much as they dare and went all around the city.
The route isn’t made public, but there was a public viewing area at Brittingham Park.
One spectator News 3 Now talked to said she would never join the ride, but she wanted to check out those who did.
“I’ve heard about this race for many years but have never been able to see it or cheer them on,” said Debbie Wendt. “I’m a pretty open person when it comes to this kind of thing, so I thought, ‘Good for them.'”
Organizers said the ride supports messages of independence from fossil fuels and automobiles, as well as body image positivity.
