Barbara A. Warner
SUN PRAIRIE – Barbara Ann Warner, age 67, of Sun Prairie, departed this life on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Saint Mary’s Care Center.
Daughter of Joyce Elaine (Gehri) Stetler and Harry Carl Stetler, Barb was born June 20, 1950, in Mauston, Wisconsin. Graduating from Mauston Area High School in 1968, Barbara was a member of the National Honor Society, a state champion clarinetist, a varsity cheerleader and baton twirler. Most importantly, this is where she met Dan; they were married on June 7, 1969.
Barb attended MATC and worked at the First National Bank, Lange Optometric Clinic, The Wisconsin Cheeseman, General Telephone, Sunshine Publications, and Hometown News. Barb was a Water Safety Instructor, and the founder of Warner’s Christmas Trees and Wreathes. All these accomplishments merely supported her real life’s work of building a loving home for her family.
Barb is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dan Warner; three children, Angie (Ben) Van Slyke, Alan (Stephanie) Warner, and Adam (Sara Davis) Warner; two granddaughters, Abigail and Alena Van Slyke; two sisters, Linda (Gary) Barrix, and Lori (Eric) Jensen; many nieces and nephews.
Barb joins her mother, Joyce, father, Harry, and brother, Jim in eternal peace.
Barbie’s adventurous spirit and enthusiasm for life were contagious. She loved her friends and family intensely, completely, and without reservation. Words cannot describe how much we will miss Barb, her smile, and her love.
A funeral service will be held at PEACE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 232 Windsor St., Sun Prairie, on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Shaun Arndt officiating.
