Barbara A. Carlstrom

MADISON- Barbara A. Carlstrom, age 84, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare, just 47 days after her beloved husband, Larry, passed away.

She was born on April 17, 1933, in Madison, the daughter of Fredrick and Gertrude (Misslich) Krause. She graduated from Cambridge High School. Bunnie was united in marriage to LaVerne R. “Larry”, on May 5, 1956. After raising her family, Bunnie worked for J.C. Penny’s in East Towne Mall for many years, then WPS until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church and VFW Post No. 8483 Auxilary.

Bunnie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and the family dogs. She was a member of a card club, enjoyed crocheting and loved making large family dinners.

Bunnie is survived by daughters, Mary Carlstrom (Jim Danz) and Margaret “Peggy” (Don) Bindl; sons, Robert “Skip” Carlstrom and Paul (Lynn) Carlstrom; grandchildren, Kirsten (Peter) Von Busch, Nate (Kara) Olson, Greg Lynch, Zach (Erin) Olson, Luke (Amanda) Carlstrom and Nick Carlstrom; great-grandchildren, Karlie, Cade, and Kale Olson and Everett Von Busch; sister, Fritzie Chicker; and special nephews, Mike (Nikki) Chicker and Matt (Melissa) Chicker. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Fredolph and Esther Carlstrom; husband, Larry; and brother-in-law, Hal Chicker.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Rd., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017, with Father Randy Timmerman presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Friday.
