A Baraboo woman and her dog were killed Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash, Sauk County officials said.

County emergency crews were notified of a the crash just before 4 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 23 and County Road W in the township of Westfield, according to a release.

Janette R. Accola, 87, of Baraboo, was driving a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero west on County Road W and pulled out in front of 44-year-old Timothy G. Houk, of Marshfield, who was driving a 2009 Chrysler minivan north on Highway 23, investigators said.

Accola and a dog riding in her car died at the scene, according to the release. Houk suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
