BARABOO, Wis. — A man faces multiple charges, including eighth-offense operating while intoxicated and methamphetamine possession, following a traffic stop between Baraboo and Lake Delton early Tuesday morning, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office said.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office said a deputy stopped Douglas Esposito, 57, of Baraboo, just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of North Reedsburg Road and County Highway BD. A K-9 officer sniffed the vehicle, leading deputies to find methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside.

Esposito appeared impaired at the time, causing a deputy to ask him to perform field sobriety tests, the release said. Based on the results, he was arrested for OWI.

Online court records show Esposito faces charges of OWI, possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, operating while revoked and bail jumping, among others. He is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on July 21.
