Bank robbery suspects to appear in federal court
Suspect: Used money to feed heroin addiction
MOUNT HOREB, Wis. — The suspects arrested for a string of Madison bank robberies will appear in federal court Thursday.
Michael Benike, 29, and Tara Thousand, 25, were arrested Friday in Mount Horeb.
The two “knowingly took by force, violence and intimidation,” money from six banks over the last few months, according to a criminal complaint.
Thousand told police she and Benike committed the robberies to feed their heroin addictions.
