Badgers stop Green Bay in first round of NCAA Volleyball Tournament
Wisconsin sweeps in-state rival at Fieldhouse
MADISON — Molly Haggerty had 10 kills to lead the Wisconsin Badgers to a three-set win over Green Bay in a first round NCAA women’s volleyball tournament match at the UW Fieldhouse Thursday night.
Dana Rettke added nine kills and Grace Loberg had eight.
Wisconsin (23-6) won the first set 25-9 but the Phoenix (20-11) battled back in the second before the Badgers won it 27-25. Wisconsin dominated the third set winning 25-15.
Pepperdine won the other first round match over Northern Iowa in five sets.
Wisconsin and Pepperdine will play their second round match at the UW Fieldhouse Friday night at 7 pm.
