Badgers football team begins pre-season camp
First workouts held at Camp Randall
MADISON, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin football team had its first pre-season practice on the field at Camp Randall Stadium on Monday.
It’s the first of 29 scheduled practices before the regular season opener Sept. 1 against Northern Iowa.
Heisman Trophy candidate running back Montee Ball did not practice as he recovers from a concussion suffered in an attack on campus last week.
Head coach Bret Bielema said there’s a competition to be the starting quarterback as Danny O’Brien, Joel Stave and Curt Phillips are all contenders to lead the Badgers offense.
