Badgers basketball to host exhibition game to raise money for hurricane victims
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men’s basketball team will host an extra exhibition game next week to raise money for those affected by the recent hurricanes.
The game against Northern Iowa will be Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Kohl Center.
NCAA rules currently allow for two exhibition games, but Division 1 schools are being allowed a third game this fall to raise money for people and areas affected by the hurricanes in the southern United States and the Caribbean, according to a release.
Admission to the game is free, but fans will be asked to donate to Team Rubicon .
“This opportunity presented itself last week,” UW head coach Greg Gard said in the release. “It gives fans the chance to see our team, it gives our team a chance to play against another school and, most importantly, we can raise some money for a great organization like Team Rubicon that does so much to assist those in need around the world.”
Tickets must be reserved online at UWBadgers.com.
