Badgerland Girl Scouts begin cookie sales
Girl Scout cookies on sale for $4
MADISON, Wis.– The Girl Scouts of Wisconsin- Badgerland Council kicked off their cookie season this weekend, with some scouts already selling hundreds of boxes.
Girl Scout Taylor DiMartino said her strategy to selling cookies is, “Smiling and being happy.”
Money raised from cookie sales will go toward troop adventures.
“Soon we are going to go camping for the day, not in the night time,” Girl Scout Anna Ackerman said.
While Girl Scouts councils around the country are raising prices to $5 per box, the Badgerland Council is keeping the price at $4.
Ackerman has a goal of selling 200 boxes of cookies this year.
Parents said selling cookies teaches the girls both math and social skills, as well as, work ethic.
“It’s not fun to be out here in the super cold weather, but if you can overcome all the obstacles of being cold, than you’re going to earn something awesome,” Kerry Enger said.
Badgerland Girl Scouts will sell cookies until March 22.
